Ahoy! Welcome Aboard Knots & Thoughts!
First and foremost our goal is to develop content that enhances access to marine sports (for everyone). We are boaters ourselves and this began as a platform to document our experience in our 1989 Passport 41 (S/V Venture). We started in the summer of 2022 (on the hard) in Portsmouth, RI.
We certainly had some big dreams.
We’re currently in Hampton, VA (proud of the journey so far!) and are now looking to share some of our learnings on the not so sexy side of boat ownership.
If you’re at this site, you probably know what it takes to keep a vessel going. Much (if not all) we’ve learned was shared freely with us from people in the community. This is simply us paying it forward.
Our goal is to complete a series of projects that were identified in the recent survey of Venture before our slip contract ends in June of 2024. If we can keep pace with our schedule, the goal is to take Venture to our originally planned destination, Charleston, SC. We hope you’ll stick around for the ride!
